Church Choir

Music at St Mary’s:

The choir and organist enjoy leading the music at the main service on Sunday mornings. We are a traditional SATB choir with long-serving and newer singers. Tony Streeter is our most famous member, featuring on TV and radio when he celebrated 50 years as a chorister. Our practices are usually on Friday and we often end the evening in the George and Dragon. Sunday morning services include a range of traditional and modern hymns and songs. The music group is fully involved in these services too. At the moment there are vocals, keyboards, percussion and guitar. The music group often practice on Sunday afternoons. In addition to Sunday morning worship, there are formal evensongs, informal evening services, matins, funerals and weddings. We aim to encourage the congregation as we praise God together.
